Woodstock is approximately 8 miles/12 kilometres North of Oxford or 60 miles/100 kilometres to the North West of London.

    If you are not familiar with driving in the U.K we recommend that you first obtain a copy of the Highway Code which can be ordered from Amazon This is a very cheap and invaluable Official publication . Road atlases are also available.

    Bus travel to Woodstock is from Oxford. There is a frequent service operated by Stagecoach, numbers 20 and 20A, look out for the names Woodstock , Charlbury and Chipping Norton on the front of the bus.

    The bus stops are close by the Hensington Gate entrance to Blenheim Palace or in the centre of Woodstock itself close by the Marlborough Arms Hotel, see interactive map. Look out too for Worth's Coaches which also operates the same route.

    The drivers will be happy to tell you at which stop to get off, PLEASE ASK for Blenheim Palace or Woodstock Centre.when you get on the bus.

    Air Travel: Oxford Airport caters for business size aircraft only, for commercial flights - Birmingham, London Heathrow, London Luton, or London Gatwick are the Airports you will most probably fly into. Birmingham and Heathrow have coach services to Oxford. go to: Oxford Bus for details of buses from Heathrow and Gatwick to Oxford. There are no direct airport services to or from Woodstock.

    Trains:
    There is no railway station in Woodstock, all trains are too and from Oxford, where there is a frequent direct service from London Paddington via Reading, and from Birmingham New Street via Banbury and Coventry; other connections from the south via Reading or Didcot, from the north via Birmingham New Street.     Tour Buses. The are a number of day tours which start from London which take in Oxford, Blenheim Palace and Stratford upon Avon, they operate from London every day, but, please note they tend not to have the time for you to walk around Woodstock and you only visit Blenheim Palace in the time available. Blenheim Palace is not Woodstock, neither is Woodstock Blenheim Palace! We happily exist together in close co-operation. To book contact your hotel concierge. Another option is to contact one of Woodstock´s taxi/private car hire operators with driver who should be able to arrange a more personal tour of the area after collecting you from Oxford railway station or local hotel.
