A brief biography - My Art

It's simple really I have had no formal training but have just enjoyed painting all my life. The subjects I feel especially drawn to paint are waterways, trees & flowers. I guess you can sum it up in one word and that is nature. I find producing large work has more impact especially with my floral art. Acrylic paints are my favourite medium as they are so versatile. They enable me to add fine detail to realistic scenes and to achieve vibrant bold colours to my floral art. Much of my inspiration comes from the wonderful local countryside and the changing flowers in my garden.

I have held many solo exhibitions and feel I have brought much pleasure to people especially from the shows I have held in hospitals.

Many of my designs have been used for charity cards etc.

My artwork has featured in canal magazines and used as front covers for the Oxfordshire Limited Edition magazine & Sobell House 2013 calendar. I have had a number of interviews on local radio and TV. Much of my work is owned in private collections through out the UK and overseas.

My website has helped me much as an artist & as a result visitors have contacted me far & wide. Very flattering indeed as when they see the real thing they seem even more impressed.

Thank you to all who have supported me and to those who have purchased my artwork over the years.

Visitors are most welcome to visit my studio in Oxfordshire any time of year. I often participate in an open studio event in May.

Hope you enjoy browsing through my paintings on this website.
